ELLIPSE Corrales, New Mexico Under Construction 2024 Ellipse occupies a site in an enclave of cottonwoods toward the western edge of the floodplain. Approached through an orchard, it is an unexpected shimmering object— modulated by the muted, abstract "reflection" of the foreground landscape and sky. A few miles to the east, is a 10,000-foot mountain range. Sweeping elliptical stairways to the left and right of the entry ascend to the main level. The garage, the prime bedroom with its courtyard, and ancillary spaces are tucked below—a silvery apparition emerging in this Bosque landscape.
